Answers to All Your Questions
WHAT IS DIFFERENT ABOUT APEX?
While we realize there are many options for your training, at Apex you get the benefit of certified coaches that have taken the time to perfect their craft. Our style of coaching works with you to ensure solid physical and mental running mechanics. We go beyond being enthusiasts - our coaches are always working on keeping up with continuing education to keep up with the latest running knowledge.
We believe in quality over quantity. We have found our runners improve month the month by working on speed and recovery more so than just increasing mileage. Our training style allows for individual focus and we realize not everyone can thrive in a one size fits all training plan. We work with you on your specific goals.
In addition - our low monthly fee of $40 for our group workouts offers an unbeatable value.
WHEN / WHERE DO YOU TRAIN?
Our training usually revolves around a quality workout on Tuesday, road work on Thursdays and longer runs on Saturdays for our higher mileage group. Our lower mileage group runs on Wednesdays and Fridays with an optional Sunday run. Group work outs are usually at 5:30 AM during the week with 6AM runs on Saturdays or 7AM runs on Sundays with Bad Idea Run Club.
Training locations vary depending on the activity. A weekly update is provided via email concerning location and exact details, including routes.
Other options (including virtual coaching) are available if you can't make the workouts and need to schedule alternative workout times, but running with the group provides some benefits that are hard to beat!
WHAT ARE MY TRAINING OPTIONS?
Currently we offer a lower mileage group and a higher mileage group. For our higher mileage group we ask that you are comfortable running at least 5 miles at a 9:30 minute/mile pace.
If you are not quite ready for that pace or not looking to run higher mileage at this moment, our lower mileage group is a great option to start group training.
If you aren't sure what group is the right for you, reach out to our team and we'll help you determine what is the best fit!
